“Food, drinks, and karaoke with an NFL linebacker? How freaking sweet is that?!”
It’s hard to describe Yelp Cincinnati’s latest Elite Event better than Jess K put it. On a warm sunny night, yelpers trekked up the treacherous hills of Mt. Adams for a night of good food, good drinks and surprisingly good singing at Yelp’s Karaoke with Dhani event at The Bow Tie Café!

The chic, funky and comfortable café was the perfect spot for yelpers to meet and greet one another. Owned by Cincinnati Bengal and star of The Travel Channel’s Dhani Tackles the Globe, the café captures the essence of Dhani’s personality. Fantastic photography on the wall, ancient books strewn throughout, globes and maps and atlases everywhere and a giant whiteboard wall to write or draw on.

"The nice, comfortable, quirky Bow Tie Cafe was an unexpected surprise," Howard M happily stated. "Once I heard it was owned by a Bengal, I was expected memorabilia and TVs everywhere. That was my prejudice, but I didn't see any of that." Instead, there was the perfect spot for conversation, drink and eats!

And what eats there was! The café brought out a selection of their fantastic sandwiches, including cold cuts and hot Paninis. There was also plates of hummus on toast and mini-cupcakes with little bow ties on them. The food was so good, the staff had to constantly run back and forth, removing empty trays and replacing them with new ones. "I'm glad we arrived early as the food was all fantastic!" Brian C declared. "The red velvet mini cupcakes were highly addictive, yum!"

The only thing that could beat the food for quality was the entertainment, and we had our socks rocked right off. DJ Scott Wherle, of Hi-Vox Entertainment, began the night by mood setting with music but switched it up to karaoke about half way through … as soon as yelpers became brave enough to try it! There was a little bit country and a little bit rock and roll, and a lot of fun. Alex himself may have rocked the heck out of R.E.M.’s It's the End of the World as We Know It (And I Feel Fine).

And the man himself even got up to do a little Otis Redding and Sitting on the Docks of The Bay to the delight of the crowd. Karaoke with Dhani indeed!

Of course, none of that singing would have been possible without the assistance of the night’s fantastic alcohol sponsors. Kentucky Ale brought their namesake beer as well as delicious rounds of Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale and Kentucky Ale Light. The café’s staff were also creating cocktails using TY KU, a premium sake and Dhani’s personal alcohol brand.
The warmth of the evening even allowed people to walk outside with these drinks and sit on Bow Tie’s multi-story stone patio and watch the goings-on in Mt. Adam’s. What an event!

The night? An win for sure!
