The last week was a whirlwind of all things Yelp in the BPB. Yelp Checks In took over Broward-Palm Beach with 29 businesses giving out FREE Check In Offers including: sushi rolls, workouts, mojitos, beer, appetizers, desserts and more. Along with the amazing, free offers we hosted five events around town. Check it out:
We kicked off the week on Monday at The Funky Buddha for a private tour of the brewery and samples of their unique brews. After the tours Yelpers enjoyed an extended happy hour, snacked on 7 different styles of Pretzel Crisps, played giant Jenga and noshed on fish tacos from Jefe's Original Fish Taco Truck. Not a bad way to kick off the week!
On Tuesday we "checked in" to a part of BPB that has never had an Official Yelp Event: Lauderhill! We were here for the first time and we were ready to EAT! The fine folks at Los Verdes spoiled Yelpers with a plethora of Colombian dishes that included: empanadas, hot dogs , burgers, chicken quessadillas and maicito de pollo! Not sample sized portions, full servings! To end the night right, samples of their brand new milkshakes were served and received an overwhelming approval from Yelpers. Lauderhill, you now have a Yelp flag planted in you!
Thursday a group of lucky Yelpers embarked on a first of its kind event at Gulfstream Park. The crowning jewel of Yelp Checks In had Yelpers "restaurant hopping" and "checking in" to three separate businesses. The night started at Paladar Latin Kitchen & Bar, where Yelpers were welcome with a mojito and appetizers. Salsa, plantain chips and yucca chips were waiting for guests as they arrived. Then appetizers came roaring out of the kitchen. On the menu: portobello and queso blanco empanadas, braised beef mini tacos, and cuban sandwiches. But wait, we aren't done yet!
After a quick walk over to Brio, Yelpers were greeted with a raspberry martini and found a buffet set up for them. A private dining room made for an intimate setting. On the menu: spicy shrimp and eggplant, pasta alla vodka, chicken limone , veggies, mashed potatoes and margherita flatbread. As you passed though the line you were welcome to take as little or as much of each option. Everyone sat down and enjoyed dinner while chatting with fellow Yelpers. But wait, we aren't done yet!
After another quick walk (it's great for digestion) we arrived at III Forks for a (bitter)sweet ending. Walking in we had the entire bar area reserved and Yelpers took their seats as trays upon trays of Bootlegger came out. After the sweet creamy (whisky filled) drinks were chugged down, everyone thought "What a sweet way to end the night!" Nope, we have more! Out came fried cheese cake balls, chocolate covered strawberries and bread pudding! One last walk left…to the car.

Saturday we "checked in" to Las Olas, which could possibly be the most famous street in the BPB. Right off of Las Olas Yelpers found themselves at Mancini Modern Italian for a delicious lunch that was jam packed with a chefs tasting. As they arrived they were greeted with the Mancini – a signature vodka cocktail. Dishes were constantly coming out of the kitchen courtesy of Chef Claudio Sandri (who competed on Iron Chef). On the menu: Tuna cruda, beef carpacio, polpette (meatballs), calamari, agnoletti, lasagnetti. tagliatelle alla bolognese, diver scallops, pizza funghi, and chocolate ganache. The entire time wine glass were kept filled with either red or white wines. The perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon!
It was a wild, fun ride! Thanks to everyone who came out the events, checked in and claimed offers, and a huge thanks to all of our partners – we couldn't do it with you you!
