On Friday night, Brooklyn's finest yelpers hit up Red Oak, a long-awaited newcomer to the Bay Ridge scene. This beautiful new restaurant and bar welcomed the Elite Squad in for a night of good friends (and awkward hugs), custom-crafted cocktails and delicious tastes of their contemporary menu, an enticing blend of modern American cuisine with Mediterranean influences.
The night started off SMOKING; Claire was behind the stick shaking up refreshing Bulldog Gin cocktails (she makes a mean Tom Collins!), and this smooth London dry gin definitely got the party started! As Garrett P says, "There are 117 reasons that I wake up every morning, and 103 of them involve the possibility of delicious gin." Bulldog definitely fits the bill!
Properly lubricated, everyone was free to explore the cozy space, including what Yan T touts as "a cool outdoor garden which, on a suddenly cold south Brooklyn night, was magically heated. With summer coming, you'll want to snag a seat out there." Candlelight kept the mood magical for the evening, and Red Oak's amazing kitchen kept the food flowing. Yelpers sampled all sorts of skewers, mini-falafels, bacon-house-made hummus, and other tasty treats like bacon-wrapped dates that had Julia B exclaiming, "Daaayuuuum [Gina], this was the bomb!"
All in all, Red Oak is a true gem in the heart of Bay Ridge and as you can see, ideal for a cocktail party! For those in attendance, be sure to leave your review of the event right HERE.
A huge thanks goes out to Sam, Fedy and the rest of the Red Oak staff for welcoming the Yelp Elite with open arms. Whether or not you made it out, make sure you check out all the photos courtesy of Melanie Fidler, and what people are saying in reviews and on Talk.
