Yelp Baltimore Elites ushered in the summer season with one of the swankiest of celebrations: Yelp’s Great Gatsby Garden Party at Gertrude’s
Elite Rachel S gives F. Scott Fitzgerald a run for his literary money with her review of "Yelp's Great Gatsby Garden Party" at Gertrude's at BMA. Her heart was all aflutter upon just walking in ("Talk about swank…May's Elite Soirée was dripping in the stuff," she says).
It's no wonder her words turned flowery when describing the rest of the scene Boutique Events, Crimson and Clover Floral Design, and Table Toppers set up: "As we made our way through the outdoor tents at Gertrude's to the sculpture garden, we admired the chic period threads of our fellow Elites, as they bustled and buzzed between the tables like cheerful bees amongst a network of hives… As the sun set, the elegant white tents were illuminated with golden lights sprinkled throughout the folds of the fabric, giving the entire garden the effect of being candlelit. Any outsider would think they had stumbled into a lavish wedding reception in the Hamptons."
Ray R agrees: "Such a beautiful and romantic venue! From the waterfalls to the sculptures to the jazz band (including the cute lil John Legend look-a-like *psst, call me boo*), this Yelp event was infected with a touch of suave and sexy!" (We'll tell Mark Meadows Trio that you were pleased, Ray R. No worries 😉
Lites bites from Gertrude's packed major impact with everything from mini sandwiches to delectable desserts. Jen L "could not stop eating those crispy spanakopitas!" She adds that "the little bison burgers and the zucchini crab cakes were amazing as well" and that she "definitely felt full and could not stuff herself anymore with macrons and hazelnut cake bites at the end of the night." Dan A co-signs: "My personal favorite was the grilled cheese sandwich with bacon and maple."
Ada G's love came more in liquid form thanks to Blushing Betty cocktails courtesy of very-fitting alcohol sponsor, Sloop Betty Vodka. Mixed with Sloop Betty, blood orange juice, triple sec, and garnished with a orange, sugared rim, she only had one request by the end of the night: "a kiddy pool full of blood orange betty cocktails to play in!!"
While the cocktail kiddie pool never came to pass, Michelle B claims "the theme was perfectly executed" and, that after seeing the photos she took from the Elite Event, many of her "friends are now jealous about what being a Yelp elite member entails!"
Until the next sexy summer celebration: SYOY!
