Yelp's evening at Finn & Porter was an embarassment of riches. Three years ago we came into this space and it's still the gold standard for events. Turns out they've done it again – aweing Yelp elites with the abundance of gorgeous food and drinks. And speaking of gorgeous, we kept this elite event seductively simple, asking yelpers just to wear their night on the town best. Lisa M's poetic review? "Fancy dresses hang forlorn in darkened closets like a box of long-forgotten sparklers. Waiting to light up a room, a space, a face. All they need is occasion. Yelp's Evening with Finn and Porter was just such an occasion."
The abundance of libations was downright bacchanalian. The event featured Coruba Rum poured with a strong hand into beautiful bevvies like "Under the Mango Tree." This pretty little concoction of Mango rum, St. Germaine, fresh lemon and club soda was a total crowd fave. Those who prefer to stay on the hoppy side of life opted for one of the four Independence Brews. Local love for those guys and their Austin Amber, Stash IPA, Freestyle Wheat and Brown Bottle Ale. Of course, what better to wash a drink down with than a delicious massage from Tower Spa. Relaxation: Complete.
The food, glorious food. There's nothing yelpers love more than trying new delectables and Finn & Porter brought their A++++ game to the table. Some of the featured bites included smoked escolar and watermelon, spiced jumbo lump crab cake, seared beef tenderloin, steamed sea bass, sugar cane brined pork belly & banana beignets. I'm going into a food coma just thinking about it. Jesse D is sure of one thing: "I'm certain the term food porn was coined on a night like this."
You'd think this was all a magical dream until you take a moment to read through the glowing reviews and to check out all of the pictures from the lovely and talented Erin Molloy. Megan L"Erin Molloy rocked our faces off with her always engaging photobooth skills as well as casual snaps here and there." Erin's pics capture the moments and the food and the Yelp love perfectly. Tasha B's only complaint? "That it had to come to an end." Thanks again to our fabulous sponsors. And until the next time, see you on Yelp!
