Wine Down with Us at the New Orleans Wine & Food Experience This Year

New Orleans Wine & Food Experience is one of the premier events in the Big Easy, showcasing what the city does best. In its 27th Anniversary year, this New Orleans festival has become one of the most incredible culinary events in the nation, attracting over 7,000 gourmands and connoisseurs as well as art and music lovers over five days of festivities. They say a glass of wine a day keeps the doctor away, but don’t quote us on that! If you enjoy wining and dining yourself, don’t hesitate to immerse yourself into the local culinary getaway that is the New Orleans Wine & Food Experience (NOWFE).

While NOWFE is a destination for wine and food connoisseurs, the festival accommodates all degrees of indulgers, from wine dinners and exclusive experiences to seminars and grand tastings. Top chefs from around the city create culinary experiences like no other. Over two dozen restaurants feature special dining evenings throughout the New Orleans festival. The weekend also features over 1,000 wines from around the world, with special tasting events from wineries. You can enjoy grand tasting events, promenade evenings in the French Quarter, and seminar series to hone your palate.

Yelp is excited to share the bounty with all the locals who enjoy excellent food, exceptional wine, and a great time! And if you’re looking for a sufficient excuse to clink glasses and gorge on insatiable samples, 100% of the proceeds go to causes that support culinary education. Use this pocket-sized collection as a reference for places you’ll have to revisit once you’ve come out of your NOWFE-induced food and wine coma.

“From the outstanding/creative dishes to the decor inside, everything was impressive. Came with a group of 8+ for a birthday party and the service was great from start to finish. Every dish left us craving for more. Portions were enough and the drinks were crafted so well by the bartender! They even split a few dishes for us beforehand. “Incredible experience having brunch on the balcony. Jazz band playing, gorgeous view of Jackson Square and all the wrought ironwork of nearby balconies. The cocktails were on point, service was so hospitable, food was delicious. I had the duck/andouille gumbo to start, a special of the day, and it was a flavorful Creole-inspired dish that hit the spot. “I was craving Italian. Several friends recommended Rizzutos. So, off to Lakeview I went. The exterior was beautiful. At first, I thought it was just a nice house. Then, I saw the sign. The interior was upscale. The menu was nice. Not only do they have a nice selection of pasta, but they also have various steaks. I had a dirty martini that was awesome.
