There is a place where the sidewalk ends and before the street begins; there the drinks flow soft and light, and there the Yelpers mingle in candlelight…

And on August 21st, at the infamous Guilt & Company, they did just that. With artisan cocktails, local brew, decadent nibbles, a beatbox spoken word artist, burlesque poetress, Love Letters To Strangers booth, and a harmonica. Because that's how we do Wednesdays.

With fan favourite, Gypsy Tears Ruby Ale from our friends at 49 Parallel Brewing and a devious infused cocktail ℅ Titos Handmade Vodka & the mischievous minds of the Guilty bar, Vancouver Elites settled into to this literary night with the best of liquid libations. As the taps tipped and the cocktails swirled, Elites both new and old got a chance to mingle and meet at this underground Gastown haunt.

Not to be outdone, as they tip, tapped away at the Love Letters To Strangers booth, or posed at our infamous Pin Up Perfection photo booth, the Guilt & Co kitchen knew no bounds – showering our Elites with the most decadent of nibbles: "the [in-house] smoked steelhead salmon on the tortilla chip was the shining star. I also really enjoyed the vegetarian flatbread pizza and the bison pate. I've never come to Guilt and Company for the food, but the delicious tasters from the kitchen have convinced me to give it a shot!" (Martina M)
Though Elites had to concentrate extra hard at this shindig to keep those canapés from missing their mark because jaws dropped for spoken word artist, beat boxer and all around gentleman, CR Avery. His particular brand of mischief, paired with the exquisite Lola Frost, the burlesque poetress? Perfection on stage. "The entertainment, be still my heart, was amazing. I'm a big fan of Lola Frost and CR Avery just blew me away." (Gina I) It was show no one is soon to forget!
A huge thank you to Meagan, Curt, Derek and the fantastic staff of Guilt & Company for treating us like gold. "Huge shout out to the staff at Guilt & Co. They were beyond super. Words cannot describe it. The food kept coming. There was so much of it. And to top it off, they were so friendly and engaging!" (Herman E)"
Love to Jeff & 49 Parallel Brewery for craft brew love; Marcus, Dick & Titos Handmade Vodka for lulling us into cocktail heaven; Lola Frost & CR Avery for blowing our minds; Shimona Henry & Lindsay Elliot for being the best paparazzi a lady could ask for and Gabi M & Jennie M, my moral support for the evening.
It was a night like none other, and Vancouver Elites – thank you for sharing it with me!
