Vancouver Meet The Elite: Marje B

Welcome to Vancouver's first Meet The Elite, where we let you in on the lives of some of our top community members. As the Yelp Vancouver Community Manager, I often get asked by business owners, newbie Yelpers and other members of the Vancity community: "Who are these Elite Yelpers?" Aside from being the most authentic, social, and influential members of the Yelp community, Elites set the standard for what Yelp's all about – having a passion for local businesses and sharing that local love and knowledge with others.

Today's featured Elite is Marje B, Elite since 2012 with a whopping 511 reviews and counting! When she's not Yelping Marje loves to run (mostly so she can eat bacon), cook, and hang out with her incredibly cute dog.

If you've had a favourite moment during your time as an elite, what was it?

So many things I love about being Yelp Elite, but top is meeting amazing people that have similar interests as me, and eating amazing food. Before I didn’t really tell people I was Yelp Elite – I kinda thought it was "geeky," but people actually think it's cool!

What inspires you to keep writing reviews?

It’s my own "journal" of experiences from food, to shopping, marathons, or even parks and if it helps others with their experience that’s just a bonus.

What's your favourite best kept secret in Vancouver?

This is a hard one, I don't think its a secret but I love going for high tea and IN love with Neverland Tea Salon!

If you're an expert on anything, what would it be?

I have a secret: I hunt for the best almond croissant in the city! I'd like to say I’m a bit of an "expert" in that.
