The new year brings new beginnings, new traditions and of course a whole new batch of Elite Yelpers! Every January, we welcome back the Elite Squad for another year of yelptastic community events and urban adventures. And why not start off with a good ol' food fest at an awesome new local business? The 2015 squad of newbies and OG's alike gathered at Jackson Tavern to celebrate the community and commemorate the newest member of Metzger Family Restaurants. Yelpers were treated to a generous food and drink tasting highlighting the exquisite variety Jackson Tavern has to offer-The Chowda, Pretzel-Meat-Cheese plate, Clam Cakes, Grilled Cheese, Red Velvet Whoopie Pies and 80s themed cocktails (Personal Jesus and Sunglasses at Night). We officially have a little piece of New England in the Old Pueblo, buoys and gulls!
Thank you to the Metzger Family (Brian, Michelle, Abby, Gio and Breck) for the warmest welcome and to the stellar team at Jackson Tavern for showing us a great time! Elite Yelper, Kathy N, sums it up perfectly- "Each Metzger restaurant has had its own unique feel, atmosphere and food and all have been quality, inventive experiences. Jackson Tavern is no different. It's New Englandy, Tucsonish, Metzgerful- what more could you ask for, right? Brian makes one feel welcome and truly important to the success of his business."
About Jackson Tavern:
Jackson Tavern is a modern expression of New England Cuisine and culture. The menu is anchored by classic tavern fare that defined early American dining, with modern adaptations for which Metzger Family Restaurants (parent company to Gio Taco and Poppy Kitchen) has become known.
