Last year Top Taco burst on the scene like an overstuffed burrito with hundreds flocking to Riverwalk Plaza to shoot tasty tequilas and mezcals as well as enjoy tacos from the most obvious and obscure restaurants. At that time the organizers realized, “wow, New Orleanians really like tacos” and decided to metaphorically slab all the guac and sour cream you could handle on their second year with an entire week dedicated to the celebration of tequila and mezcal, appropriately dubbed Agave Week, and an even BIGGER space, Woldenberg Park, to accommodate the taco lovin’ community on March 15, 2018.
What’s even better than eating tacos ‘til your heart’s content? Oh, maybe the fact that Top Taco benefits One Heart NOLA; a non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds and awareness for the city’s foster children.
Get your tickets, and research how the competitive eaters do it because nowhere else are you going to be able to enjoy 75+ tacos and libations for a better deal and you’re going to want to eat all. the. things. Feeling a wee overwhelmed? Don’t fret! Check out the list of participating restaurants below to see who will be slinging their tacos and make your nosh notes now…We’ve also made a delicious pocket taco-sized collection here just in case your mind goes blank with excitement when you get there!
