At this abandoned rock quarry turned Japanese garden you’ll find shaded walkways, stone bridges, a 60-foot waterfall and ponds filled with koi. Bonus: It’s free and they have a tea house.

 

 

#2: The Last Word
Enter this “cocktail underworld” for the most cocktails on tap in Texas. Yelp tip: Pop in to this speakeasy-vibe bar between 5-7pm Monday-Friday for $5 Happy Hour deals.

 

 

#3: Barney Smith’s Toilet Seat Art Museum
Barney Smith, a retired plumber, has more than 1,000 decorated toilet seats stored in his garage, dubbed the Toilet Seat Art Museum. “He has toilet seats decorated with everything from Troll Dolls to a piece of the Berlin Wall to a piece of the Challenger space shuttle!” -Yelper Taj C

 

# 4: Alamo Beer

Add a brewery tour and beer garden to your itinerary with a visit to Alamo Beer – nestled beneath the historic Hayes Street Bridge. Find a picnic table and enjoy live music on the weekends.

 

 

#5: The Luxury
This good ol’ fashioned food truck food made of shipping containers comes with an awesome view of downtown San Antonio. Order the fries and any of the sandwiches. That’s right – they’re all equally loved.
