#1: Koi Zen Cellars – San Diego

This hidden gem in a industrial neighborhood of Carmel Mountain is an absolute favorite of mine. The owners are very welcoming, all employees are knowledgeable, and there is truly ample seating everywhere.

#2: Chuparosa Vineyards – Ramona

Hands down, one of the best wineries in Ramona! It can be a little hard to find but their wines are worth it! You can bring a picnic and sit outside at one of their tables and enjoy a tasting, a glass or a bottle!

#3: Coomber Craft Wines – Oceanside

Totally impressed! Not only can I enjoy a crisp glass of rose on a warm summer evening on the large outdoor patio, with heaters if it gets chilly, I can pair it with my favorite Thai food, or pizza delivered from across the way.  And then the great live music nightly by so many great musicians – so classy and nicely appointed.

#4: Brooking Vineyards – Vista

The absolute best wine and tour I’ve been on! Eric is passionate about his winery and his tour is entertaining and personal. The wine tasting is the best wine I’ve tasted. Better, smoother, cleaner, and more flavorful than the Italian vineyards and other CA vineyards I’ve toured.

#5: Grafted Cellars Winery – Vista

This is not your snooty Napa Valley kind of tasting experience. The staff gets real with you. The owners hang and sip with you when they are in the tasting room.  The vibe is so cool. We became members the very first time we visited and have been back multiple times.
