Sure, you’ll see your obvious local favorites on the list, but it’s also chock full of hidden gems and off-the-beaten-path joints like Leiper’s Fork Distillery tucked away in Franklin, TN. Topping this year’s best drink list is Nelson’s Greenbrier Distillery, Brothers Andy Nelson and Charlie Nelson set out to resurrect Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery, founded in the 1800s by their great-great-great grandfather Charles Nelson, the boys realized their kinship ran deeper than blood; they both had spirit pulsing through their veins.

What they’re known for: Distillery and tasting tours. 

Yelpers say: ” The history and restart of the distillery were very interesting. We took home a case of whiskey. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and grew up locally. Nice quality products!”

2. The Horn – Nashville, TN. 

What they’re known for: Dirty Chai and Veggie Sambusa

Yelpers say: “The Horn Coffee provides an incredible, unique atmosphere that rivals any other in the city. Somali chai provides an exquisite taste of East African flavors combined with the flaky, deep fried goodness of all sorts of sambusas.”

3. Leiper’s Fork Distillery – Franklin, TN. 

What they’re known for: Old Natchez Trace White Whiskey

Yelpers say: “One of the prettiest distilleries I’ve visited and one of the best tours.  Didn’t feel rushed and we were able to ask questions.  Tour guide was fun, witty and personable.  Tasting following was equally as professional and personable.”

Yelpers say: “As part of the whiskey trail, stopped here to check out George Dickel spirits. This is absolutely worth the stop. I did the tasting and all four were really good. The two staff members that we interacted with were both extremely friendly and knowledgeable.”
