Cold weather and hot chocolate go together like cocoa and marshmallows. Every winter, hundreds of mittened hands grasp piping cups of drinking chocolate, and hundreds of tongues rejoice at the first sip of this thick, rich, perfect wintertime beverage. In honor of National Hot Cocoa Day on December 13 and in anticipation of National Hot Chocolate Day on January 31, we rounded up the top hot chocolate spots in the US and Canada according to Yelp data.

This is a list of the Top Hot Chocolate Spots in the US and Canada in 2022 according to Yelp. We identified businesses in the food and restaurants category on Yelp, with a large concentration of reviews mentioning “hot chocolate,” then ranked those spots using a number of factors, including the total volume and ratings of reviews mentioning “hot chocolate,” between January 1st, 2022 – November 22, 2022. We included only three businesses per state for geographic diversity. This list looked at businesses in the US and Canada. All businesses were marked open on Yelp as of November 12, 2022. When available, all businesses on this list have a passing health score as of November 12, 2022.
