Cuisine: California casual
What they’re known for: Farm to table favorites, including their tri-tip and wedge salad.
Yelpers say: “Despite a huge line outside of the building, things really progressed at a great pace. We were inside in no time and ordering, the menu selection was impressive! Once we ordered and we were sat, we took in the atmosphere; very natural and cozy feeling. I had a Brazilian Sunset: blood orange vodka, pomegranate passion fruit, fresh lemon. Perfectly balanced and so refreshing! For lunch I had the tri tip and a peach salad. My partner had the ribeye and the wedge. The quality of food was amazing, perfectly seasoned meat cooked to perfection. I loved the peach salad, super crisp and an explosion of fresh ingredients. My partner said his salad was the best wedge he’s been had! We can’t wait to return.” – Randy B.

Cuisine: Seafood
What they’re known for: Their extensive menu including their clam chowder trio, louie salads, and fresh fish entrées. Make your reservation on Yelp.
Yelpers say: “Great food, wonderful service and fun atmosphere. We had the stuffed bread and the crab cocktail appetizer and both were absolute game changers. I had a bowl of clam chowder and crab cakes as my entrée. Both were excellent. Great flavors. Unfortunately, I was way too stuffed to try the desserts, but I am sure they are good. I definitely will be back.” – Ryan G.

Speciality: Fresno’s world-class zoo, featuring exhibits like Sea Lion Cove, African Adventure, Stingray Bay, and Wilderness Fall.
What they’re known for: You can feed giraffes, explore the reptile house, and have lunch overlooking the savanna where you’ll see rhinos, elephants, and lions.
Yelpers say: “I’ve been going to the zoo for over 30 years, and each time is more magical, more educational and inspiring. The keepers take such great care of the animals, big and small. Seeing little kids filled with wonder and excitement when they get to each exhibit makes me feel like a kid again, too. My favorite are the elephants and tigers but man, the giraffes up close is such a crazy experience. It’s amazing!” – Ashley V.

Cuisine: California barbecue
What they’re known for: Tri tip plates, homemade sides, burgers, and their chopped salad.
Yelpers say: “I had an excellent experience at Westwoods for lunch today. We sat in the bar area, and the service was excellent. I ordered a burger with no bun, and I subbed a house salad. The burger was juicy and flavorful, and the red-wine vinaigrette on the salad was killer. I love that the salad comes with slices of hard-boiled egg. As usual, the ambience was fun and lively. This is one of the great local lunch spots. I’ll be back soon.” – David G.

Cuisine: Pancakes and breakfast dishes
What they’re known for: Fresh, handmade pancakes.
Yelpers say: “I had the s’mores pancake and a side of chicken fried steak. The pancake was just what you think it would be…. sweet and delicious. The chicken fried steak was cooked perfectly and the gravy was seasoned just right. My dining guest had the linguica and eggs with a pancake. She added strawberries to it. She said the strawberries were very sweet. And everything was very good. Talk about fresh squeezed orange juice, they have a machine squeezing oranges. Can’t get any fresher than that! Great place to grab breakfast or lunch. I’ll definitely be back to try some of the other things on their menu.” – Midori M.
