Who doesn’t love a tasty falafel? Among being a fun word to say, falafels are a vegan treat enjoyed by many, and have become pretty popular in recent years among non-vegans too.

Falafels are traditionally made with mashed chickpeas and flavored herbs and spices, sometimes fried and sometimes baked. Whether you like your falafel doused with Tzatziki or wrapped in pita, there are plenty of ways to enjoy this scrumptious Middle Eastern dish.

Methodology: This is an all-time list of the best falafel in the U.S., according to Yelp. We identified businesses in the restaurants and food categories with a large concentration of reviews mentioning “falafel,” then ranked those spots using a number of factors including the total volume and ratings of reviews mentioning “falafel.” We included only one business per state for geographic diversity. When available, all businesses on this list have a passing health score or a score greater than a B/80 as of June 6, 2020.
