Beauty trends may come and go in the blink of an eye, but one look is skyrocketing—lush, voluminous, perfectly curled eyelashes. From red-carpet celebs to stay-at-home moms, the bright-eyed trend is a fan favorite. And there’s no shortage of salon services—lash extensions, perms, tints, and lifts—to help achieve that ideal “woke-up-like-this” look.
Keep this in mind before trashing your favorite mascara and lash curler: Eyelash services use chemicals and sharp objects near the eye, so it’s crucial to find a trusted expert. In fact, the American Academy of Ophthalmology advises that finding a reputable and hygienic esthetician is one of the most important precautions.
Our list of the nation’s top 20 lash salons can help you find the best spot near you for new lashes. Looking for length? Check out the #1 lash bar, Southern California’s Jax Orange County, which specializes in the Mile High Lift. Want something more natural looking? Lash Pilot (#5) in Santa Monica wraps extensions around each natural lash instead of applying them on top, which helps with longevity too.
Dreaming about glam Las Vegas lashes? Kai Lash Studio (#8) wows with mega volume extensions for a high-impact look. Or maybe you don’t have hours to spend in the chair—Lash Me by Hayley (#16) in Fairfax, Virginia, guarantees speedy yet meticulous service in less than 90 minutes.
Most popular eyelash services
It can be overwhelming to know which eyelash service is right for you, especially if it’s your first time getting your lashes done. Use this list of the most popular lash services to walk confidently into any lash bar and get the look you want.
Lash lifts. Stylists use a setting solution and silicon pads called “shields” to lift natural lashes, creating the appearance of longer length and open eyes. Some salons add a keratin solution to prevent damage to the natural lash. Lifts give a natural-looking, bright-eyed appearance that lasts 6–10 weeks, and they cost about $125–175.
Eyelash perms. Similar to a lash lift, this service offers a more dramatic curled effect. It uses a setting solution and a cylindrical silicon rod to curl the entire lash, root to tip. Lash perms are recommended for naturally long lashes, since curling can make short lashes appear shorter. Results typically last around 4 weeks; prices range from $30–70.
Lash tints. This procedure semi-permanently darkens your lashes, resulting in a thicker and fuller look. It’s best for people with naturally light-colored lashes (it’s not as noticeable on someone with naturally dark lashes). Lash tinting lasts around 4 weeks, gradually fading as time passes. Each tint costs about $20–70.
Eyelash extensions. Similar to hair extensions, a technician applies a faux “lash fan” made of several individual lashes to each natural eyelash, using salon-grade glue. This semi-permanent procedure lasts 4–6 weeks, or longer if you get touch-ups every 2 weeks. In general, lash extensions can set you back $120–500. You can customize the color, volume, curl, and type of material used for the lash, which can also affect the price:
- Volume. Classic provides the most natural look, while mega-volume or Russian volume lashes offer more drama and also increase pricing.
- Curl. The most popular are J-curl, C-curl, and D-curl. The J-curl is straight and flat, creating a more subtle look. The C-curl imitates a natural lash curl and creates an “open eye” effect. The D-curl is the most curled, resulting in a dramatic look.
- Material. Mink lashes are lightweight and fluffy, creating the most natural look. Real mink can cost upward of $400, while faux mink is more affordable and still achieves a natural look. Silk lashes, the heaviest and most noticeable, are usually reserved for special occasions such as weddings or birthday parties.

The cult favorite is the “Mile High Lift,” a semi-permanent service that produces “the most length possible while keeping the lift consistent throughout the eye,” according to the business’s website. Their secret: a special formula of keratin, arginine, and biotin meant to nourish natural lashes. Other services include a premium keratin lash lift that helps restore damaged lashes. Jax Orange County also offers courses for lash professionals with a lifetime mentorship.
Yelpers say: “My lashes are normally stick-straight and can never hold a curl. But Jax’s lash lift brings them to life! She does such a great job at making the lashes look naturally lifted and tinted, literally to the point where I get random compliments from people. Each time I come back, my lashes look fuller and longer than before.” —Sydney W.

The salon welcomes walk-ins, and Yelpers rave about how respectful staffers are of clients’ schedules. They respond promptly when booking and work efficiently during appointments to get clients in and out more quickly than at typical lash salons.
For its many services—including volume and hybrid lash extensions, keratin lash lifts, tints, and waxing—clients can choose junior, senior, or master stylists, at prices that vary accordingly.

3. K Beauty, Newark, California
K Beauty offers an array of services, including lash extensions (classic through mega-volume), waxing, and a full suite of haircuts and styling, but clients routinely flock here for the salon’s proprietary keratin lash lift and tint. “Our timing technique doesn’t burn your lashes,” says salon owner Tuan N. “We often get customers from different places [whose] eyelashes were burned from the same treatment. Our solution leaves your lashes moisturized while looking more natural.”
His wife, lash artist and shop co-owner Krystal, has clearly honed her craft over the last 5 years and prides herself on meticulous client care. In addition to customizing the lash extension, she consults with each customer on the lash length, shape, and color that best complements their facial structure and natural lash growth.

5. Lash Pilot, Santa Monica, California
While many salons use premade lash extensions, Lash Pilot crafts each “fan” of faux lash strands by hand, customized to the weight that a customer’s natural lashes can handle. Salons that use premade fans typically add them on top or beside each natural lash, a process that requires more glue and can result in natural lash damage. Because Lash Pilot handcrafts its fans, stylists are able to wrap them around each natural lash, providing a more natural-looking extension that lasts longer.
In addition to extensions, Lash Pilot offers lash perms, lifts, and tints, along with a slew of eyebrow services and semi-permanent makeup. Owner Tram Vu, a self-proclaimed “picky” stylist, hires lash artists with zero experience so she can train them from scratch on preferred technique. New hires go through an intensive month-long training process, then must pass a quality-control test before assisting master stylists. “The No. 1 compliment is that clients always get the same result because of our intense training,” Tram says.
Yelpers say: “I have been coming to get my eyelashes done with Tram since 2018. Tram is seriously an artist and a perfectionist and does an amazingly perfect job! I am always looking forward to coming to the salon. I tend to get cold quickly, and Tram and her staff are always so sweet and provide customers with blankets. I get my eyelash extensions done, my eyelash perms and tints, and even lip blushing. I will forever be a loyal customer.” —Dennise A.
6. Lashes by Chito, Brooklyn, New York
Japanese-trained lash artist Chito B. imports sable lash extensions from Japan, which are as rare as they are sought after. “Sable is extremely hard to find in the US,” she says, explaining that they’re much lighter than normal extensions. “Because of the light weight, they won’t damage your natural lashes, and the texture is extremely soft—softer than your natural lashes,” Chito explains. In addition to this customer favorite, she offers flat mink extensions, bottom lash extensions, and lash lifts.
Chito starts each appointment with an alcohol-free eyelash primer and deep lash cleanser that removes all residue on the lash line. This allows the glue to stick better, which results in longer-lasting extensions and better lash health, she says. She also uses vegan and hypoallergenic products that are free of latex and toluene to reduce irritation or allergic reactions.
Yelpers say: “Before Lashes by Chito, I had never gotten any sort of lash extension. I was concerned the procedure might damage my lashes or be unpleasant. Now, I’m hooked. I absolutely love the way my lashes look and have gotten many compliments on the fact that they look natural (which was what I wanted). The experience itself is incredibly relaxing, and everyone I’ve seen has been lovely.” —Emily S.
