You know what we find “souper”? The amount of amazing dumplings spots in the Bay Area! And it’s not just beloved xiaolongbao (XLB) and potstickers we’re talking about – with the Bay’s culinary diversity, some of the most celebrated dumplings here include delicious Afghan mantoo dumplings, sweet potato dumplings with shrimp and crawfish, and scrumptious Russian vareniki dumplings (more commonly known as pierogies).

With shelter-in-place in effect right now, you may be missing these savory meat and veggie filled pockets of flavor if you don’t know how to make them at home. That’s why we’ve compiled a list of the top 20 highest rated dumplings spots in the Bay Area currently offering takeout or delivery! Some of these places even specialize in frozen dumplings for you to prepare at home (so you can basically say you made them yourself).

Methodology: This is an all-time list of the best dumpling spots in the California Bay Area according to Yelp. We identified businesses in the restaurants and food categories with a large concentration of reviews mentioning “dumpling,” then ranked those spots using a number of factors including the total volume and ratings of reviews mentioning “dumpling.” The list looked at businesses in Alameda County, Contra Costa County, San Francisco County, San Mateo County, Santa Clara County and Marin County. If a chain appeared on the list more than once, we only included the highest rated location. When available, all businesses on this list have a passing health score or a score greater than a C/70 as of April 2, 2020.
