As the Maryland summer turned into the yellow orange of fall, Yelpers from Baltimore and beyond got to meet the businesses behind autumn’s comfort foods through our Warm & Yelpy Series.
This series was all about celebrating and learning from those businesses who help keep us (and our stomachs) warm, happy and cozy when the season changes and temperatures drop. Yelpers sat down for intimate virtual sessions on how to brew tea with New Secrets Tea ahead of flu season; bake pumpkin pie with Lucifero Loaves for Thanksgiving celebrations; and make a warm and bubbly French croque monsieur with Cheezy Mike’s for the cold days to come.
Local Baltimore Elite Squad members got to participate in exclusive grab-and-go perks with Waffie and Good Neighbor, located in Baltimore’s historic Hampden neighborhood. On the menu? Sweet-and-savory waffle boxes and floral butter brioche toast.
Check out what Yelpers had to say about their series experience:
Learning about Natalie and her incredible miracle was inspiring. She was a joy and offered so much insight into the world of tea. I’d never even heard of a tea bath until this event! – JohnHenry H.
This was such a fun and delicious event. I watched during the Zoom and then made a pie for Thanksgiving later that week. The instructions were easy to follow and I was able to substitute for all butter. The session was filled with amazing tips I’ll use during other baking adventures. – Iris H.
Croque monsieurs (and croque madames!) are delicious and it was eye-opening learning that making them for myself is very much within my reach. – Claudia E.
