If you've ever spent any time in New Orleans, you know it's all about the good times. With their spacious, rustic interior with a backyard patio, Catfish is one of the first places to hit Brooklyn that perfectly captures that unique and laid-back vibe of welcoming, good people, and of course great food and drink.
Last night, Maxx, Aaron & Luke, the friends behind this amazing joint, welcomed the best of Brooklyn Yelp in to sample some deliciousness off their authentic Cajun menu. Over here, moist cornbread slathered in cinnamon honey butter is beautiful, the sweet cocktail shrimp are pretty much perfect, and Sasha G swears by the succulent "slices of andouille sausage on toast with awesome remolaude sauce. Scrumptious bites!" And for that sweet summation, Reana K testifies that "Even for someone without a sweet tooth, that sticky, warm, dense bread pudding tasted divine." Truth.
No NOLA party is complete without a cocktail or two, and Jessiclaw and Brian behind the bar know their business. Maybe it's just because it was our own Rony Mo's birthday, but Widow Jane Whiskey shots were flowing like water! For her part, Amanda S was smitten with the hurricane, "which, by the way, hurricane was 90% alcohol, but tasted like a dream." And for Whitney J, it was all about "one of the best sazeracs I've had since leaving NOLA." With 16 rotating craft brews on tap (including a healthy dose of Abita), there's something for everyone.
Obviously, anytime you end up at Catfish is a good time to celebrate, so make sure you swing through for some summer fun! A huge thanks to Maxx and the rest of the amazing and accommodating Catfish staff for welcoming us with open arms. Whether or not you made it out, make sure to check out the reviews of the event, the photos from the lovely Liz Clayman, and what folks are saying all over.
