The 2020 Baltimore Yelpies Award Show

On the evening of December 17, nearly 75 Yelp Baltimore Elites virtually tuned into The 2020 Yelpies – our inaugural end of year award show. The special evening was a celebration of all-things-Baltimore, with Elites cheersing to each other, the local businesses we love (and love to review!), and the new year.

Although we couldn’t gather in person, the sense of community was ever-present, as Elites donned their tacky holiday best, participated in trivia games, and reflected on their top bites and discoveries of the year. Twelve trophies were awarded throughout the night for Elites who’ve gone above and beyond to support local businesses, in a year when it certainly wasn’t easy.

To prepare for a five-star evening, Elites were invited to pick up specially curated Yelpies Party Packs, filled with goodies from brands across the country, including those based in Baltimore. The packs included a warm bite from Cheezy Mike’s, a bottle of yerba maté from Icaro Tea, a giftcard to Topcoat, a new non-toxic nail salon in the city, and more. With their party packs in hand, Elites walked the virtual red carpet into the event, with DJ Ayyye One welcoming them with holiday tunes and 2020’s top tracks.

In addition to the tunes, treats and trophies, raffle prizes were also given out that evening: seasonal mixers from Cane Collective, a holiday box from The H3irloom Food Group, and a one-night staycation from the new Canopy by Hilton Harbor Point Hotel.

We are unbelievably honored to end the year with a celebration of our community and recognizing top contributing Yelp Baltimore Elite Squad members. Please raise a glass to this year’s winners:
