This past Wednesday, the Yelp Elite community and their guests were welcomed into Auction House Market’s newly-renovated, private venue space for a taste of Tava, an Indian street food concept located in the new food hall!
Tava’s chef and owner Manish Patel ignited a wanderlust in our local Yelpers with brightly-colored saris draped over tables and a display of over fifty aromatic spices and chilis. The tandoori-roasted cauliflower with mint yogurt and heaping bowls of Chicken Biriyani paired perfectly with The Mayhaw’s refreshing concoction, Indian Summer, made with light and delicious Malfy con Limone Gin. Guests looking to further immerse themselves received lovely mehndi work on their hands and arms.
Between the cocktail and dosa demos, guests learned how Patel’s upbringing in the kitchen led him to venture into the industry as well as the importance of coveted family spice blends that go into his every-day dishes. Guests left with a Garam Masala recipe to help them create their own spice blends, a delicious mango Kulfi sandwich, and a peek into the culture behind Indian cuisine.
