The show must go on!

The Yelpies Awards Show that is. After a crazy year of cheering on local businesses the timing couldn’t be better to pass along that love and cheer to our community of Yelp Elites. On Monday, December 14th Yelp Elites from Tampa, St. Pete, and Sarasota gathered around the virtual table for an unforgettable dinner and show.

The Dinner

The festivities began as Bavaro’s opened the doors to all three of their Tampa Bay restaurants for The Elite Squad. Elites were treated to an exclusive tasting for 2 all packaged to go! Each meal came with 2 Verde Salads and 2 pastas of choice featuring the restaurant’s signature sauces. Only so many Yelpies can be awarded but thanks to Bavaro’s every Elite felt like a winner on this special night.

Nina H. shares this photo from her Bavaro’s dinner. Choices include Penne A La Vodka and Tagliatelle Bolognese. She chose to add on the Burrata Pizza; based on her 5 star review, that’s a decision we approve!

The Show

At 7pm Tampa Bay Elites tuned in to the awards show from the comfort of their homes. A virtual cheers and a group photo (read: group screenshot) kicked off the main event! Tampa Bay was overjoyed to see the first award be presented by community icon, Brett. Familiar awards, such as “Photographer Of The Year” were accompanied by a few new categories like “Takeout Champ Of The Year” and “Local Explorer Of The Year.” These honors spoke to the tenacity of our Yelp community during this unprecedented year.

The Yelpies are a tradition near and dear to the Squad’s hearts. It is a night that inspires and invigorates us. We are so grateful that the community could come together after this rollercoaster of a year and still celebrate each other.
