It's so rough, living in Florida all the time…
Sometimes, life can be pretty easy. And when you have the opportunity to show off one of the prettiest stretches of sun-soaked sand anywhere on earth to your best and brightest yelpers, you don't think twice. Which is why Yelp's Beach Blanket BBQ & Bourbon was such a success! Because you can plan and backup plan and overthink… or you can just hope the weather is completely flawless, there won't be a cloud in the sky, and the temperature will be just perfect so you can move things out to the beach for the evening. Plan B(each) is always so much better.
Our friends at Beachwood BBQ on St. Pete Beach did all the heavy lifting, providing stupendous sliders, beautiful bacon-wrapped shrimp, and other outstanding appetizers as we began to watch the sun slip down the horizon. Beachwood is attached to the Postcard Inn, which takes the best of boutique hoteliering and puts it in the gorgeous confines of a retro-feeling beach bum hangout from the past. PCI isn't just for the snowbirds, so our locals got to check out a perfect beach bar while imbibing on the best beverages available. You can do a lot worse than a Florida Avenue Ale in your glass during a Florida sunset.
Even with the guitar strumming some classics in the background, we could still hear the waves lap up upon the shore, with a nice beach breeze blowing in to make everything pitch perfect. All that was missing was a director yelling cut, because this scene must have come straight out of a moive. If a night with an amazing sunset, great food and drinks, wonderful music, and incredible weather isn't your deal… why the heck would you live in Florida in the first place??
Yelper Cher T summed it up thusly: "Overall, a phenomenal night out with great people, good food, fantastic music all in a locale that made me call my husband and say, "Babe, I think we found our new favorite little beach getaway!" And for everyone that made it to our mini-slice of paradise, you can chat about it on Talk, or write your own review on the event page.
Hang loose, dudes and dudettes, until we do this again!
