Stray Dogs Tucson hosted thirty Elite yelpers and guests for a tasting of outrageous proportions. The decadent spread included an array of appetizers (taquitos, baked jalapeño poppers, potato skins), followed by The Nomad Burger, the Chicken Sandwich and Brisket sandwich accompanied by fresh hand-cut bistro fries, onion rings and sweet potato fries, all piled as high as A-Mountain! Just as we thought yelpers would go into a food coma, warm donuts fresh out of the fryer topped with ooey gooey frosting, sprinkles, and chocolate chips made their way to each table. And it doesn’t end there! An assortment of milkshakes followed, including the Churrochatta flavor (churro + horachata…totally tucson!) and Butterfinger. Chef Dre and the team at Stray Dogs gave us the inside scoop on the workings of their “made from scratch” approach. Truly everything they can make from scratch really is! From their cured and smoked meats to sauces and dressings– even their mayo, pickles, burgers and frostings. This is not your ordinary burger joint, that’s for sure!
