For the 24th straight year the Florida Renaissance Festival is back in South Florida! From themed weekends to giant turkey legs there’s a lot to experience and celebrate at the festival, which is hosted at Quiet Waters Park in Deerfield Beach.
Members of the Yelp Elite Squad were able to kick it with the King and Queen on opening weekend for a special Elite Experience. Elites stepped back in time and enjoyed an afternoon of laughs – and drinks – as they took a private pub-crawl tour through the festival grounds. In total there were 5 different “pubs” that each had outgoing bartenders (in full character) and many characters to meet along the way (over 100 actors in total).
As part of our yearly speed friending theme, each time we arrived to a new “pub”, Elites changed groups and got to meet new friends. Our tour guide – Buck Kinnear – told jokes, made toasts and even educated the group with the history of beer and how it was once enjoyed.
Walking through the festival, not even a little rain could ruin the fun. There is a ton to do at the fest including axe throwing, magic shows, musical performances and of course good eats. Pub crawls are hosted twice each day during the duration of the Florida Renaissance Festival and you can book your tour at the box office. The festival is going on every weekend through March 27th at Quiet Waters Park.
Last but not least, you can check out our Ren Fest episode of the Yelp BPB Podcast for an exclusive listen of what goes on behind the scenes.
