Tis the season of giving, and Sacramento's elite met the challenge by selflessy donating to three great local charities as a way to kick off the Yelp Shops Local Giving Pledge in Sacramento. From December 8-11, over a dozen Sacramento businesses will donate 10% of yelper purchases to either Loaves & Fishes, Happy Tails or Horses, Hope & Healing. Last Thursday's gala event at SPARKLE Bridal Couture kicked off the campaign in grand style, with over $300 ADDITIONAL dollars generated for the cause!
SPARKLE's beautiful, modern and spacious shop proved to be the perfect setting for this holiday-themed affair. Naturally, everything about the shindig had to be sparkly, from the outfits to the drinks to the decor! DEEDA Salon provided absolutely free hair and makeup throughout the night! And with Christmas tunes a bumpin', the sparkles only served to enhance the hip shaking and head nodding on the dance floor.
Three gracious vendors provided sparkling beverages galore! The staff of Heat Shabu Baru was on hand to serve up their famous sparkling sake mojito concotion. Woodchuck Cider donated three flavors of their hard ciders, and Karmere Winery, located in nearby Amador County, served almond peach and raspberry sparkling wines! Scrumptious small bites, including breaded and baked risotto balls, mini spanakopita triangles with creamy dill dip, and crudite platters with creamy dill dip were provided by Sacramento Natural Foods Co-Op.
The night culminated with a big thank you and rounds of applause for the charities and local businesses involved. Anyone who donated that night recieved a raffle ticket and raffle winners got Shop Local t-shirts and gift certificates from SPARKLE, DEEDA, Zocalo Restaurant and Gunther's Ice Cream! There was also a costume contest for the most sparkly outfit, with waves of applause going to the winner, Tara H!
All in all it was the perfect night to get out of the cold and collectively generate that holiday spirit! Read the reviews to find out more! And check out the pics from Photostudio29!
Have a holly jolly holiday!
