On a chilly autumn night, Capitol Coffee Works and Standard Bakery joined forces to deliver an authentic Seattle experience to 30 Elites. The aroma of coffee beans and fresh-out-the-oven pastries welcomed guests into Capitol Coffee Works’ trendy loft space that sits on a bustling street in the middle of Capitol Hill.
Elites were greeted with unlimited coffee tastings that impressed even the self-proclaimed coffee snobs. For the non-coffee drinkers, they provided a selection of herbal and non-herbal teas. Giant cookies, croissants, and muffins sat invitingly in a display to complement the cozy drinks.
The first half of the event was spent sipping, nibbling, and mingling between guests. Behind one side of the coffee bar, Elites got some hands-on action as seasoned baristas expertly taught the skills of espresso making and latte art. On the other side of the bar, perfect cups of Joe were constantly being brewed using an innovative pour over coffee maker.
The second half of the event gathered Yelpers to the back of the space to watch a presentation put on by the knowledgeable staff at Capitol Coffee Works. Guests learned about the culture of their business, their passions in ethical business practices and the importance they put on single origin sourcing. Elites even got a look into the personal experiences of staff members during their immersive trips to Latin America to visit the coffee farms where they source their beans.
