San Antonio: Yelp Experience at Walk-On’s

Yelp San Antonio is kicking off the year with some exciting Elite Experiences and more fun things to do in the growing city! Our first Elite Event of 2018 was at Walk-On’s Bistreaux Bar. Walk-On’s is changing up the game with their unique Cajun restaurant. Whether you’re there with family, kicking it with friends or watching the game, Walk-On’s has you covered with their amazing cocktails, tasty Cajun cuisine, arcade section, and sports bar. If you are looking for a place to watch any sports game this place has over 40 TV’s so you won’t miss a second of your favorite team!     

We had a full house of Yelp Elites for the class of 2018! There were some new yelpers and some who had been with us for many years! As they walked in, there was Yelp glassware for them to pick up and on their tables were mounds of Yelp Schwag to take home. We wanted to show our appreciation for them being part of the Elite team and supporting Yelp.

The Elites were able to meet the manager and staff of Walk On’s as they were being served the appetizers of the night with cocktails. They started off with warm Cajun Queseaux and Fried Louisiana Alligator with Dijon Horseradish. They also were served Walk On’s featured drink called the Strapless Bikini with vodka, coconut rum, strawberry puree, lemonade and mint leaves for extra taste. Wow! After the Yelpers enjoyed the first courses, they got ready for the rest of the food that was buffet style. The first round was the rest of the appetizers which were the Boom Boom Shrimp with special Boom Boom sauce, spicy pork Boudin Balls, and Jumbo Boneless Buffalo Wings. And yes they were JUMBO! The Walk On’s Chef came out to introduce herself and explain the entrees that they were going to be trying next. Some of the entrees they had were the Voodoo Shrimp with corn grits, Tuscan Chicken, Smoked Gouda Burger and Duck & Andouille Gumbo with rice. Yum!! Oh wait, can’t forget about dessert! Last but not least the Elites got to try Walk On’s unique and delicious desserts. They had warm Krispy Kreme Bread Pudding and Butter Pecan Pie with graham cracker crust to end the night off right!

The Yelpers had a blast at their first Elite event of the year and what better way to celebrate it than to have it at Walk On’s first location in San Antonio. The food was fantastic and the waitresses who served us were amazing. We would like to thank the manager, chef and staff for making the whole experience fun and something to remember. The Elites look forward to coming back with their family and friends.
