San Antonio: Elite Experience at Duck Donut

Blueberry glaze, maple icing, chocolate drizzle, sizzling bacon and much more! Duck Donuts has you covered with delicious donuts with your own topping creation! Not only do they serve donuts they also have a selection of iced or hot coffee, tea, sandwiches and merchandise. Did you know they cater too? They are perfect for any occasion! The Yelp Elites enjoyed trying Duck Donuts salivating cake based donuts with their many toppings and even making their own topping creation.  

As everyone walked in there was a warm whiff of sweet donuts wafting in the air. Most importantly- there was a wall of donuts. Amazing! They started off with a greeting from Ben, the franchise owner, who told us the story behind the business and how it all started. Fun fact: The name for Duck Donuts originated in Duck, North Carolina where the founder vacationed with family for many years and started his donut recipe. After the introduction they explored the shop for a bit and watched the staff create the famous donuts for some of the customers.

They were able to see all of the toppings Duck Donuts has to offer and the different assortments they made. Some of their signature donuts include the “Beach Ball” with vanilla icing, chocolate drizzle and rainbow sprinkle, “Bacon in the Sun” with maple icing, chopped bacon and salted caramel drizzle and “Sunrise” with lemon icing and raspberry drizzle. The sweet tooth cravings were inevitable! Before tasting these delicious donuts, guests were teamed up into groups t0 create their own custom donut.

Attendees went behind the scenes of Duck Donuts as Elites went behind the bar where the donuts and toppings were and started making their own creations! The Yelpers cheered them on and took plenty of “FOMO” pictures. Towards the end of the contest, Ben tried the final product to see who will be the winner. After trying all four of the donuts he chose“Summer Blues” featuring blueberry glaze, blackberry and lemon drizzle with coconut shavings. Yum! 

When it was all over, Yelpers were able to enjoy the donuts that were exclusively made for them, as well as, taking a complimentary box of Duck Donuts with them! We would like to thank Ben and the staff of Duck Donuts for having us and allowing the Elites to make their own donut creation. Everyone is spreading the word about how amazing these donuts are and looking forward to coming back for more!
