RJ's Happy Hour Club, nestled inside the Doubletree Hotel, showed off all they have to offer for Sacramento's Elite yelpers last Friday night. With plenty of food, drinks, music, trivia, sports and even free hotel stays, this was so much more than your average happy hour and provided our guests with every reason to rediscover this hidden gem soon and often!
RJ's offers up a spacious, relaxing atmosphere with multiple levels of seating, a long handsome bar, plenty of television screens, pool tables, Buzztime trivia and views of the surrounding hotel and pool. Right off the bat, elites (decked out in their best sports gear and repping their favorite teams) were given sporty Yelp Elite socks and were entered in a raffle to win a free hotel stay. As they guests grabbed seats, RJ's friendly staff immediately served up an extended happy hour featuring $2 off draft beer, single shot drinks, house wines and specialty cocktails. With her and her guests $1.50 drink coupons at the entrance, Micki M and friend only paid $3 for their first round! "Then we tried their blood orange martini's, delicious! Our servers, Abi and Akeem, were very attentive, they busted their butts, tending to all the Yelpers."
The real highlight of the evening were the eats. Offerings from both the neighboring Twig's Cafe and RJ"s bar menu included spicy chicken wings, pulled pork sliders, chicken flatbreads and monumental displays of fresh fruit, greek olives, veggies, sliced cheeses and crackers. "This was no ordinary mass produced cardboard here," boasts Jana T. "Their food is excellent both in flavor, delivery and presentation. From their egg rolls (which were moist and stuffed full of yummy goodness) to pizza sliders loaded full of pesto and cheese…the food was endless and delicious."
Fifteen of our guests also had a chance to compete for another free hotel stay in a special round of BuzzTime trivia. The atmosphere as a whole made for a memorable time for all. "RJ's took me on an exotic journey peppered with reasonably priced craft beer and delightful appetizers," applauds Chris C. "I'm happy to have discovered a new drinking hole off the grid with such awesome happy hour specials."
A very special thanks to the RJ"s Happy Hour Club staff for being such gracious hosts. Thanks also to Asia and Paul McGowan of Photostudio29 for their fun and dynamic photos. Finally, huge props to Yelp Sacramento's fearless assistant, Giselle S, for her hard work behind the scenes.
Until next time,
