As Rhode Islanders experienced the first true full day of fall, Yelp Elites visited the famed Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular at the Roger Williams Park Zoo. The night started off with a brisk chill in the air and a slight drizzle, but that did not deter our brave Yelp Elites. To get into the spirit of the Halloween season, the Elite Squad was invited to select a pumpkin beer or hard cider with a cinnamon sugar rim. As Jennifer M. put it, this was the “perfect way to set the mood!”
The night began and the Elite squad made their way to the trail and were promtly greeted with skeletal scenes that then opened up to a sea of thousands of illuminated pumpkins. Each year, skilled artists carve detailed, beautiful, and spooky images into pumpkins that dot the path of this much-loved event. This year, the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular explored the theme of the Four Seasons, which Yelper, Andres R. enjoyed with the musical sounds of Vivaldi in the background. Yelp Elites noted the creativity organizers used in curating the ghoulish atmosphere, using lighting, fog, and clever engineering to suspend pumpkins from trees! The Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular decidedly holds up to its name, and left the Elite squad looking forward to what they might come up with next year!
