If you’re going to have a guitar-shaped bar, you better know how to party. Last Wednesday, Rock & Roll Chili Pit showed Portland’s Yelp Elites that they were up to the task. After all, when you mix a menu of burgers, boozy milkshakes and more with live music, drag queens, and a costume contest, you’re guaranteed an evening that’ll get people talking!
When the Yelpers arrived in rock-star form, they wore the wildest wigs they could get their hands on. At check-in, they met special guest hostesses Lulu Lucious and Kimberly Michelle Westwood, talented local performers who know a thing or two about amazing wigs! Then it was into the Chili Pit, where the first stop was the Flying V-shaped bar! Bartenders poured pints of their exclusive Bad Axe Red, plus sampled out two of their Classic Rock Boozy Shakes. Yelpers couldn’t decide which was better, the Peanut Butter & Bacon with Jack Daniels or the Strawberry Cheesecake with Jameson! Thankfully, there was plenty of both!
Of course, the main event was the food! Rock and Roll Chili Pit pulled out all the stops, starting with three kinds of chili: the Texas-style no beans Red Zepp, the pork chili verde Iron Flamin, and the ZZ Slop, a vegan chili that had carnivores asking for more! Also on the buffet? Creamy mac and cheese, hot dogs, fries, tots, and fresh corn bread. And just when the Yelpers thought they couldn’t eat another bite, out of the kitchen came samples of their juicy and decadent burgers! At this party, it was impossible to go home hungry.
When they weren’t eating, the Yelpers were dancing! And how could you not, with Hippie Love Slave performing both covers and their original tunes? They’re the perfect match for Rock & Roll Chili Pit’s classic rock party vibe. And at the end of the evening, Lulu Luscious and Kimberly Michelle Westwood declared the winners of the Best Wig contest. After the finalists came onstage, prizes were awarded, everything from free hats and hoodies to a $100 gift certificate to Rock & Roll Chili Pit! But in the end, everybody won as they received coupons to return for a free meal. Just another way that Rock & Roll Chili Pit shows they know how to host a party!
