Portland Lets The Good Times Roll at Le Bistro Montage

Laissez les bons temps rouler! Portland’s Yelp Elite Squad had good times and more as they helped Le Bistro Montage celebrate 25 years of serving cajun cuisine beneath the Morrison Bridge! Lucky Yelpers ate, drank, and ate some more, reminded of just why this Central Eastside establishment has thrived for so long as a PDX institution.

To get into the Mardi Gras spirit, the Elites and their guests were greeted with beads and New Orleans-style jazz. Then it was off to the buffet, where the Montage team served three unique takes on their famous – and famously customizable – macaroni and cheese! The crowd favorite was the jalapeño and chicken, though others preferred the cheesy simpleness of their classic. Rounding out the buffet was delicious jambalaya and roasted veggies. Like every visit to Le Bistro Montage, nobody left hungry.

At the bar, Yelpers had seemingly endless options for which spirits would put them in the party spirit! A popular choice was the Stinky Kitty, made with Bacardi rum, peach schnapps, lemon and cranberry juice. Others loved the slushy hurricane, a definite New Orleans classic. And of course everybody enjoyed the jello shots made-to-order on Portland’s only, Jevo – a fully automated gelatin shot maker!

Fully fed and drinks in hand, it was time to hit the photo booth! Guests struck a pose in front of one of Montage’s many colorful murals. For props, everybody loved the recreations of the restaurant’s famous foil sculptures. Swords, dragonflies, and magic lamps all reminded partygoers of Le Bistro Montage’s unique take on the doggy bag! And in the center of the party, Elites were invited to work on their own photography skills. A station was arranged with perfectly-plated Montage food and then professionally lit, allowing Yelpers to find that perfect angle for their food porn.

Just when people thought the event was winding down, the Montage team came out with even more surprises! Trays of food flew out from the kitchen, and Yelpers were treated to oyster shooters, frog legs, alligator bites, and gooey butter cake! Hospitality is the name of the game at Le Bistro Montage, and true to that spirit each guest was given a gift card and invited to return. If the Yelp Elites are to be believed, it won’t be long before they do. Want to see for yourself? Read their Yelp reviews of the party!
