What better way to celebrate spring in full swing than flower crown making, baby goat snuggling, cocktail sipping, live music listening, and socializing with fellow Yelp Elites?!
At this event in May 2022, our gracious host was the Mercato Grove apartment complex. If you live here, you need never drive anywhere: it’s everything you could want from a downtown experience in a one-of-a-kind suburban setting. The complex itself has dedicated areas for fitness, aquatics, crafting, gardening, pets, work, and play. Plus, within walking distance are some of the best Portland area restaurants as well as additional options for fitness, convenience stores, and more.
Yelpers were invited to wander the apartment complex, picking up a cocktail in the Whiskey Lounge, light bites from Fills and Lardo in the Fireplace Lounge, beer in a model one-bedroom apartment, and gift bags in the lobby. Activities like goat petting, flower crown making, and games to play were hosted by the pool, arcade, and the one-of-a-kind makerspace. Not only that, but Yelpers participated in a “duck hunt,” aiming to find as many duck statues and portraits as they could.
Not only that, but Yelpers were invited to stick around for live music and additional cocktail samples at the Sundae Jam hosted just across the parking lot.
As Yelp Elite Melodie D said, “It’s been a wet May… but the weather seemed to (finally) be cooperating for today’s Yelp Elite event. The sunny weather was perfect for sipping on the IPA we got from Fracture Brewing and the cocktail from Finlandia Vodka. …My favorite part about this experience was the number of activities there were to participate in…. The flower crown creation experience was very challenging, but the results were very rewarding. …I was so caught up in flower crown making that I didn’t have as much time to play with the baby goats from Portland Goat Parties as I had wanted. However, I did get to pet a few as they dozed in the warm afternoon sun… Thank you so much to Yelp Portland, Mercato Grove, and all the amazing vendors for organizing this spectacular event! No other way I’d rather be spending a sunny Sunday in May!”
