Only one week after the filling Thanksgiving holiday, 35 Chicago Yelp Elites made their way to 90 Miles Cuban Cafe in Logan Square to feast on a savory pig, generously provided by the restaurant. Everyone was instructed to arrive hungry, but they didn’t know all the treats the Cuban cafe had in store, and they were in for some fabulous surprises.
Both the visual and literal warmth of 90 Miles Cafe was incredibly welcoming on such a cold night in late November, and the air was buzzing with excitement for what was to come.

Every Elite was greeted by 90 Miles’s Manager, Silvia, Community Manager Anna K, and new Chicago Yelptern Lauren L. A semi-private space was set up for the group, where only Elites could sit. Though 90 Miles Cafe is a BYOB establishment, Yelp partnered up with New Holland Brewing to bring Elites some awesome beers, like Dragon’s Milk and Tangerine Space Machine. The cafe also sells mixers, so Silvia and her team created fun, festive versions of their usual mixers to create rum and vodka liquid treats for the occasion.

Then came time to feast. Along with a giant roasted pig, guests were treated to a plentiful amount of sides, including yucca, arroz, frijoles, maduros, and tostones with garlic sauce, and the amount of food everyone was allowed to eat was unlimited, so some people even took food home in to go boxes!
To top off the meal, the team at 90 Miles Cafe created special desserts just for those at the event: full-sized Mason jars filled with banana cream pie, and mini mason jars filled with key lime pie.
The entire event was a stretchy pants lover’s dream, and the perfect event for a chilly night right before December hit.
Thank you so much to Silvia, Ashley, and the team at 90 Miles Cafe for a memorable and stuffing night!
