On Tuesday, October 17th, North Italia hosted Phoenix Elites for a National Pasta Day celebration! We can’t think of a better way to celebrate this delicious foodie holiday than by learning from the best of the best on how to craft homemade pasta. As Elites arrived, they checked in on Yelp, entered a raffle, and geared up for the night to come. The wonderful team at North invited our guests to take a seat, relax, and enjoy a glass of wine in their gorgeous space while waiting for the festivities to start. Elites mingled, snapped photos, and nibbled on an outstanding charcuterie board as they awaited the highly anticipated pasta demonstration from the Chef himself!
Elites gathered around the table and watched as Chef mixed, kneaded, and rolled out the pasta dough. He then cut circles from the dough and filled each one with a dollop of their rich and creamy ricotta + mascarpone blend. The last step (and the most challenging of them all) was learning how to master a clean tortelloni fold. He demonstrated a few times, then allowed Elites to roll up their sleeves and give it a try themselves! This hands-on experience demonstrated how precise and particular the homemade pasta is prepared at North Italia on a daily basis.
The team at North topped off the evening with a 3-course meal for Elites. To start, they were served a fresh chopped salad with gorgonzola vinaigrette. Next, Elites indulged in the cheese-filled tortelloni that they learned to prepare, topped with a zesty tomato and mushroom ragu. And last but certainly not least, for dessert – tiramisu for everyone, of course!
As the night wrapped up, North’s team graciously thanked everyone for coming and sent each guest home with a bag of homemade pasta that they prepared that same morning. It is safe to say that Elites celebrated National Pasta Day with a bang! A HUGE thank you to the North Italia team for making this experience so informative and remarkable. Check out this 5-star affair by reading the reviews and viewing the photos. As always, thank you to Eric Castanos for capturing the memories and to Yelptern Connor G. for this fun video!
