March brought the scent of orange blossoms to the desert air but it also brought a fiesta for Elites and their guests! Recently, Phoenix yelpers gathered at Aunt Chilada's for La Noche de Yelp, an evening of lively entertainment, cultivating cuisine and tantalizing cocktails!
Upon entering Aunt Chilada's patio, yelpers were greeted with a surprise — a beer burro serving Coronas from her belt! While guests whisked out their cameras to capture a picture, Free Ride in a Mason Jar crooned the crowd with their lively country-inspired music. Twinkle lights kept the Aunt Chilada's patio bright as guests fed their appetites with signature dishes including mini El Pollo Fundidos, a taco and toastada station, fresh guacamole, hot sauce spinach con queso dip, spicy chicken wings, mini green corn tamales and a dessert buffet with Mexican favorites such as churros and fried ice cream!
Aunt Chilada's served up a challenge for the night: create the ultimate margarita! Those who were up to the challenge entered and a panel of judges voted on their favorite concoction. While some were busy at work creating their own cocktail, others wet their palettes with margaritas, Three Olives, 1800 Coconut Tequila, beer and wine while they caught up with fellow yelpers.
Just when yelpers thought the night was complete, celebrity chef Tiffany Allison (contestant from Hell's Kitchen) wowed the crowd with the history of Aunt Chilada's followed by a cooking demonstration. As NBMA Photography captured the moments on camera, guests placed a bat in their hands and took a swing at the angry bird pinata. After several attempts, Yelp Elite Nathan S was the victorious yelper who broke it open and released a variety of treats including bottles of alcohol, candy and more!
Take a look at the pictures and reviews from the evening and don't forget to check out the Yelp Phoenix Facebook page for videos from the night. A special thank you goes out to Aunt Chilada's, Three Olvies, 1800 Coconut Tequila, Free Ride in a Mason Jar, the Beer Burro, NBMA Photpgraphy and the yelpers who came to the party!
