Thailand is known to many as the LOS, or Land Of Smiles. As 35 of Portland's Elite gathered around two long, family-style tables on August 13th, 2013 at Thai Noodle Etc in Beaverton for Yelp's Aroy Adventure there was nary a frown to be found.
The generous folks from Thai Noodle invited the PDX Elite to go west to sample some of their tasty dishes from the deep SE of Asia. Sarah C "ate a delicious spread of food for two hours: vegetarian salad rolls, mango & shrimp salad, tom yum soup, pad kee mao, massaman curry, & finally asparagus & chicken. I was starving when I arrived but by the end of the event I was full. There was no room for dessert even if they tried." Yes, the dishes came out hot and heavy as the proprietors of this family restaurant, Mr. and Mrs. Promlukkano served up a tasty array of treats. As Rachael W relates, "can we just talk about the hospitality? Wow. The owners of this fabulous establishment kept us hooked up! Course after course, beer after beer, smile after smile. Such a sweet couple." Oh yeah, Yelpers enjoyed sipping on Thai beer and tasty white wine, the perfect pairing for savory, and sometimes spicy, Thai food.
"Kob kun kaa (Thank You) to the owner(s) and staff on Thai Noodle Etc!" You got that right, Kristen M. I double down on that Kob kun krup sentiment – to Piya for treating us, and to the Elite Squad (especially those from Beaverton, who always have to travel in for our Portland events!) – without whom this would not be possible.
Until next time, SYOY!
