Oh yes, once a fabulous Yelp Elite, Pete W now holds a different title: Master Of Awesome since he opened the Yelp Loved: Oblivion Taproom. The excited elite squad took it over Sunday for an afternoon of Sunday Funday, Yelp style!
"Awesome event, and a long while in coming! Yelp and Oblivion have a special relationship as Pete is a huge Yelp fan/former elite, and the love was definitely felt throughout this event!" – Brenda H.

What Oblivion is known for: Craft beer, ciders and amazing food from Chef Goody. For our takeover he whipped up a super special menu just for our Yelp crew and reading all about it and seeing the delicious pictures, I dare you not to drool! Now just to warn you, "his love of butchering ties in to his respect for the farm-to-plate aspect. He loves taking an 'unpretentious' cut of meat and bringing it to a higher level, part of the reason he loves BBQ and Asian 'street foods'. Most of all, Chef Goody loves cooking because of the gratification he can give people, and how it brings friends and family together. The perfect equation for an epic buffet.
"I'd like to say a big Thank You to Chef Goody. Not all know this but he sacrificed sleep to make sure the hog and everything else was ready for us. He is an amazing chef with a creativity that can't be matched. Orlando is lucky to have him." – Keith H.
We feasted on fried hand cut white corn chips served with choices of house-made salsa, black bean & grilled pineapple pico de gallo, fire roasted jalapeño nacho cheese sauce and cumin lime sour cream. A trio of deviled eggs gave us insight into their up and coming brunch specials with a palet ranging from sausage egg & cheese McMuffin, green olive & feta and even a bloody mary delived egg.

For the meat lovers, house made pastrami was served on local marbled rye bread with swiss cheese, and house caraway beer mustard, the Philly classic Wiz Wit Slider piled high with thinly sliced beef top round with griddled onions & cheese wiz (of course) on local slider roll. We also broke an Orlando elite record and housed an entire roasted pig within the first hour of the event. This slow roasted suckling pig was pulled to order served on a local slider roll with choice toppings of house BBQ, Carolina vinegar BBQ, Mojo and Escabeche style onions.
The vieggie only crew dined on "arguably the best vegetarian burger in town;" the Paradise Burger. Chipotle black bean burger topped with pickled mango & avocado on a local French onion roll.

We washed it all down with three amazing beers including Coney Island Lager - from Shmaltz Brewing,
Wittekerke Winter White Ale - Belgian White (Witbier) and yelper favorite, Terrapin Hopsecutioner IPA. Woodchuck Cider also served Amber, Granny Smith and Spring editions. So refreshing.
We also paired this lovely event with some "get to know your fellow yelpers" community event that everyone was pumped about. We had a drawing from everyone that completed the check list and Sharon W. had some great words to share about this: "If you're anything like me, then you would have appreciated the Community Match game that we played. I LOVED the game! It was great for first timers, like my friend that I brought, and it was a great way to meet so many people in person that I had established an online connection with from those on the talk boards, the UYEs as well as local reviewers from literally, right in the same neighborhood as myself. (Woot!) I've met more people at this event than I have in any of the past events and I think it's because of the game." Success!

The after party rocked on through the evening at the Yelp VIP Lounge at the Florida Film Festival. An overall amazing, relaxing Sunday Funday all around.
