Nashville is home to a ton of "Badassery" including our energized Elite Squad who kicked it up for our July Elite Event at East Nashville's Old Made Good. Guests chilaxed at the blue bungalow where vintage and handmade live side by side in blissed out harmony. Straight up y'all… Nashvillians come from near and far to peruse OMG's eclectic jewelry, art, re-purposed furniture, vinyl, clothes and other nifty home goods.
Stuart W was certainly impressed! "The owners Ashley Sheehan & Kate Mills were on hand and they certainly have an eye for taking what others might call discarded junk and turning it into something special." A portion of the proceeds from sales were donated to Girls On The Run who's mission is: To inspire, educate and prepare girls for a lifetime of self-respect, positive relationships and healthy active living. Generous Elites also donated funds to support this fantastic organization too!
As if that wasn't enough, lucky attendees were greeted with crafty cocktails comprised of family owned (and award winning – fancy that?!) Catoctin Creek Distilling Company. Glass serving glasses were were constantly being topped off with the organic rye whisky and gin but many couldn't get enough of the carefully concocted "Badassery" that bartender Henry Pile whipped up with this Virginia based gin! Jess Y "loved the fruity-ness of the drink and it as extremely refreshing as well!" You can't possibly enjoy a balmy Tennessee summer evening without bottles of Yazoo Brewing Company's Hop Project and Dos Perros Ale, right? Cheers! Big thanks to our partners Lipman Brothers for all the libations! We always know where to go when we're thirsty in Nashville! We thought so.
Our buddy and owner Tasha Ross at Fiddlecakes made another Elite Event appearance and served up spectacular fig-apricot scones and "light, sweet, and addictive" macaroons that "had a nice light crunch to them and were filled with some delicious creamy-ness." Sarah P had to ask,"could the macaroon's be more addicting? No, seriously."
Kim Y brought a plain tote bag and "cutsie-fied with a legit hand screen printed OMG/Yelp logo – yup, carrying that around grants me 4 hipster points!" Gregory R a "big fan of the event souvenirs" and was "glad I brought a shirt to get inked" by the live screenprinting provided by Emily Luke!
Summer sounds meant a marriage of "super blend bluegrass, old-time country, folk, and a little jazz for flavor" live intimate porch performance by The Danberry's which are our "new iTunes obsession!" David G is "sure the wife is now following them on Twitter… and I don't know about anyone else, but we bought their CD which came with a free download as well!"
Perhaps Gregory R states it best? "The front porch music on a hot and sticky summer evening out on the east side with a cocktail and some artsy new swag sure made it feel like we're living the good life in Nashville!" We couldn't have said it better ourselves. Cheers to that!
