Located in Omaha’s historic Old Market, Hollywood Candy is often a spot locals bring out-of-town friends and family. And for good reason–a visit will stimulate the senses. Whether it’s exploring the many vintage displays throughout the massive building, trying a few delectable bites of the house-made candy, or having a hot dog and a milkshake in the retro dining area–complete with soda fountain–there’s something that’ll pique anyone’s interest, no matter their age.
Omaha’s Yelp Elite Squad were invited to check out the space, chat with owner Larry Richling about its history, and enjoy a classic movie in the small theater located inside Hollywood Candy. And what goes great with a flick? Popcorn and soda, naturally, but attendees also sampled Fruity Pebbles bark and chocolate covered cherries, both house-made treats. Head here for photos and reviews of the event.
A business like Hollywood Candy is constantly evolving. This spring, head there for a daily artisan market featuring local makers and a vintage pinball arcade unlike anything else in the U.S. Not matter what, one thing is guaranteed: you’ll have fun.
