Northern Ireland – Around the World in 8 Weeks!

Tuesday 3rd of May saw the First event of the Around the World in 8 Weeks Event Series. The Belfast Yelp Community have been invited to pack their bags and head off on on a world food tour! Over the next eight weeks the Yelp Community will be jet setting around the globe… without even leaving Belfast. We’ll be visiting eight amazing Belfast eateries, each one serving up incredible eats from distinct parts of the world.

The first night as part of the series was held at an Award Winning eatery in the heart of Belfast. The Morning Star showcased what Northern Ireland has to offer in terms of food, with a butcher shop on site and stocking all the very best of local produce it was bound to be a fantastic evening. In a traditional setting the fabulous staff served up four delectable courses. The first of the four was a delicious Two Mushroom Veloute, the next course was a locally sourced fish dish consisting on whiskey cured salmon and Kilkeel caught crab. We then moved on to the main which was a real taste of home, Grass fed dexter and Hilden Stout Pie was a treat for both the eyes and taste buds. Beautifully presented it silenced a room of dining Yelpers. Last but not least we were served up Peanut Butter Cheesecake with traditional Yellow Man Ice Cream!

There food coma’s all round as the Yelpers left The Morning Star satisfied and stuffed. Next up for the World Food Tour we jet off to Italy for some traditional pizza and pasta on the 11th May. Thirty Yelpers have now had their passports stamped as they head towards the departure gate!
