“Eat through the pain” was the theme for the evening. It was good pain, though, because never before had anyone seen so much food served at a Yelp Elite event on Chicago’s North Shore…ever! City Barbeque knocked it out of the park and made lifetime fans of the Yelp Elite squad. From the behind-the-scenes smoker tour, to the personal background story of the restaurant’s earlier days from co-founder Frank, the night was a true pre-grand opening celebration feast. Each guest got to try the pulled pork and beef brisket, sausage, turkey, a half chicken, a full slab of ribs, cornbread, corn pudding, beans, collared greens, chocolate cake, peach cobbler and banana pudding to take home. Oh, and the goody bag included a large jar of barbeque sauce as a memento. In lieu of tips, guests donated over $200 for the Deerfield Historical Society.
