NC Triangle Elites Go To The Dentist

When was the last time you told your friends you had fun at the dentist? We are going to venture, never! That all changed last week when NC Triangle Elites paraded into Dr. Alex’s world at Tryon Family Dentistry for some toothy festivities! Dr Alex showed us that we can all have a little fun at the dentist office. With advanced technology we can event get out of there sooner and with less pain, it just takes a little bit of magic!

From mimosas, to appetizers, to teeth themed sweets, Elites were hooked with this new and modern dental practice. Elites snacked on toothpaste brownies, teeth cake pops, and a giant tooth cupcake. Never has dealing with teeth been so sweet. Although everyone deserves to have dessert first once and a while there were plenty of savory options to satisfy hungry Yelpers. In true Southern tradition the line up included pulled pork egg rolls, crab dip, and caprese skewers among some additional snack deliciousness.

Once Elites got their fill of the snacks they got to enjoy some close up magic thanks to Joel Givens. This man was impressive! He fooled many a Yelper including myself, I’ll never look at card tricks the same again. One of the biggest magic surprises of the night were when a live, yes live, cockroach ended up in an unsuspecting Elites hand as part of the trick. Followed by Joel altering a dollar bill in front of our eyes to include one of the dental hygienists names. How did he do it? We certainly will never know!

After the close up magic Elites got to experience some dental magic watching a new tooth crown be 3-D printed in no time at all. It’s amazing what technology can do! They take a picture of your mouth, create a digital exact replica of the crown that needs to be made, send that info over to the printer, and voila we watched the actual crown be carved in their 3-D printer! Throughout the event we were calling out raffles every fifteen minutes. From electric toothbrushes to garden kits Yelpers were anxious to see if they were one of the lucky winners. To wrap the evening up the final and most anticipated giveaway of the night took place— a water flosser! Seriously, don’t mess with adults and expensive dental prizes!
