It’s National Bike Month, which means there’s no better time to get outside and explore the city with the bay breeze blowing in your hair. To celebrate, Yelp has teamed up with some of the country’s top bikeshare systems and we’ve selected some unmissable stops! This week, we hop on a Bay Area Bikeshare bicycle and pedal our way through San Francisco!

1. GRANT AVENUE AT COLUMBUS AVENUE – Nestled in the middle of Chinatown and North Beach, this stop gives you access to all kinds of awesome eats! Check out the cioppino at Sotto Mare, the amazing custard tarts at Good Mong Kok Bakery or unbelievable pizza from Il Casaro Pizzeria & Mozzarella Bar. You can’t go wrong!
2. 2ND AT TOWNSEND – The closest stop to the home of the San Francisco Giants. Here is where you’ll find AT&T Park, home of the San Francisco Giants. Also nearby? The famous oyster happy hour at Lord George, and even the 3-star Michelin restaurant Saison, known for their seafood-focused tasting menus.
3. YERBA BUENA CENTER OF THE ARTS (3RD @ HOWARD) – Want to pedal your way to a day at the museum? Great! This stop has it all: San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Yerba Buena Center For the Arts and The Contemporary Jewish Museum are all just steps from this station! Afterwards, reflect on all that culture over a classic or signature cocktail at Novela.
4. POWELL AT POST (UNION SQUARE) – Ready for a makeover? Union Square is the place to be for all your favorite stores and stylists! Get a custom tailored suit at Knot Standard or a fresh new haircut at the stylish JA’s Razor Club, directly above rockstar thread shop John Varvatos.
5. SOUTH VAN NESS AT MARKET – The gateway into Hayes Valley, you’re just a short distance from some truly great coffee spots. Our suggestions: shipping container-turned-coffee shop Ritual Coffee Roasters, or SF-institution Blue Bottle Coffee. And be sure to visit Arlequin Cafe & Food To Go for sandwich and a glass of rosé on their hidden garden patio!
6. SAN FRANCISCO CITY HALL – Want to check out City Hall? Heck, you’ll probably see someone getting married! But don’t miss the great gastronomy stops nearby! Fermentation Lab serves a Cali-centric beer menu alongside elevated pub fare like Dungeness crab deviled eggs and duck confit sliders. Nearby, students at the International Culinary School at The Art Institute of California—San Francisco serve an always-changing menu at Bistro10UN.
7. EMBARCADERO AT FOLSOM – Looking for some great dive bars right on the water? Well, check out: Hi Dive, Red’s Java House and enjoy the view! After a couple of drinks, go full tourist and take your photo in front of Cupid’s Span! Note: the Embarcadero bike path is nice an flat so feel free to coast. Plus, you can ride underneath the Bay Bridge!
8. EMBARCADERO AT VALLEJO – The perfect stop for when you have kids in tow. The Exploratorium is just a few short steps away with an ongoing exploration of science, art and human perception. Or leave the kids at home and try Coqueta, a celebration of both Spanish cuisine and the bounty of Northern California.
9. WASHINGTON AT KEARNY – Interested in some low-key Asian eats near the Transamerica Building? Sam Wo Restaurant has served up great Chinese food since 1907! Looking for Japanese ramen? Whether you prefer tonkotsu or shoyo, Slurp Ramen has you covered! And fans of pho should stop by Golden Star Vietnamese Restaurant. Try the pho ga with grilled five spice chicken!
10. HARRY BRIDGES PLAZA (FERRY BUILDING) – With so many amazing eateries and shops inside the Ferry Building, it’s tough to pick favorites. Go ahead and explore the hallways of this historic building! Hog Island Oyster Co. may be known for their seafood, but don’t pass up their fried chicken. Check out Humphry Slocombe Ice Cream for flavors like Blue Bottle Vietnamese Coffee and Peanut Butter Curry. And Fort Point Beer Co. serves the perfect pairing: a hotdog with a Villager San Francisco IPA!
