Meet the Maker: Cecilia Navarro, Creatively Beaut Goods

In honor of Latinx Heritage Month, we’re celebrating and spotlighting Cecilia Navarro, owner and creator of Creatively Beaut Goods in Fort Worth, Texas.

 

 

 

A: I first started with an Etsy shop after creating a dream catcher when my daughter was born. I began to explore other creative endeavors like making jewelry, macrame, and curating vintage. It wasn’t until I started selling at popup events in the DFW area that I slowly started to grow my business. It was amazing to feel the love and support from strangers thanks to them enjoying my personality, creations, and ambition to aspire for more. After setting up at popup events for two years as a side gig to support my daughter and me, I finally grew the confidence to take the jump and become a full-time entrepreneur.

 

 

A: I was a stenographer in NYC. I had the opportunity to visit many law offices with amazing views of the city. After six years, the negative cases were just weighing me down. Things changed once my daughter was born. I wanted to step back from the rat race and pursue a more fulfilling life that would accommodate my needs as a mother.

 

 

 

A: CBG is about featuring handmade artisans and vintage home decor and clothing curators while building a community environment where others can be inspired to pursue a more creative path. I have encouraged others to dive deeper into their projects and met vendors whose first popup was selling at my events. I even inspired two vendor friends to host their very own popup events. It’s been amazing to see us all growing and doing what we love together.

 

 

 

A: Being Puerto Rican provided me with an appreciation for the Caribbean island lifestyle that is easy going and free-spirited, which inspires my bohemian and rustic aesthetic. I like to create things that are organic and real. I’ve reached greater opportunities with my work thanks to staying true to who I am, my passions, and where I’m from. I’m inspired by the ambiance of the people I meet and places I visit; people who are true to who they are and places that are raw and organic. I like to use materials like crystals, macrame cords made of cotton fibers, and jute/rattan rope to create rustic, boho, one-of-a-kind pieces.

 

 

 

A: Sit down alone and journal all of your ideas. Don’t accept anyone else’s opinion of your ideas as truth. Find a group who is on a similar path of exploration and execute your business ventures while building community with them.
