Meet The Elite: Ihan H, Taipei

Welcome to Meet The Elite, where we let you in on the lives of some of our top community members. Today we meet Ihan H, a Yelp Elite who has lived in California, Texas, and New York, before moving to Taipei, Taiwan. Although she’s just started Yelping seriously in 2015, Ihan has written a whopping 110 reviews and counting.

Why did you start yelping?

I was a super active Yelp user in the States, but a very lazy contributor. When I moved to Taipei, things changed  because the food here “motivates” me to be to share my experiences!!

Why is it “Sweet to be Elite”?

Free food, free booze, and free (amazeball) friends.

Why should someone visit Taipei?

Taipei has something for everyone.

  • The foodies: thousands of restaurants to choose from including international cuisines and fusions, street food, night markets. Not only are the food selections great, but also the price range is friendly for anyone ($.30 USD dumplings) to luxurious bowls of $100 USD beef noodle soup!
  • The shopaholics: Taipei has so many malls. We have a 10 story mall that’s connected to a 7 story mall that’s connected to a block of malls. Just get to City Hall MRT station to experience it for yourself! Don’t forget to bring a couple of credit cards.
  • The nature lovers: Taipei is surrounded by mountains and each peak has a different view. Some are perfect for city views, some you get to see the rivers, and some are simply for the athletically-inclined.
  • The historians: Taiwan has more culture than meets the eye. Other than the Taiwanese and Chinese traditional buildings and temples, take some time to explore and you will see Dutch, Spanish, and Japanese buildings, as well as historical sites!


Why should someone read your reviews?

For all the life essentials. I hope that when I try these restaurants, bars, beauty shops, etc., I can help guide decisions. Or, if you’re like me and premium coffee is a daily must-have, then you should read my reviews and we should be friends.
