Welcome to Meet The Elite, where we let you in on the lives of some of our top community members. Today we meet Leslie H, a Yelp Elite since ’15 with a whopping 129 reviews and counting.
Why did you start yelping?
I believe opinions matter when they come from a reliable source. I have always been told by friends that I am resourceful, informative, and opinionated (in a good way). Yelp is a great place to showcase those traits.
Why is it “Sweet to be Elite”?
If variety is the spice of life, then being Elite is what makes life sweet! I love being invited to exclusive events and the responsibility that comes with being apart of the Yelp Elite Squad.
What’s your favorite Yelp memory?
Bonding not over food, but burpees, during the Yelp’s Fit Club earlier this year. A challenging but rewarding experience!
What’s your favorite local biz?
I don’t have just one, as there are so many local gems. Since I am writing this on a hot summer day, I will say Goodberry’s Frozen Custard is a fave. My whole family loves going here for a frozen treat!
What’s your dream Yelp event?
A Yelp sleepover at a hotel to experience all areas including the rooms, restaurants, and amenities.
Why should someone visit the Triangle?
There is plenty to see, eat and do! From food truck rodeos and farm to table restaurants, to parks, Duke Gardens, concerts, sports, and museums.
Why should someone read your reviews?
I am someone who believes a picture can speak 1,000 words, so most of my reviews include photos that paint a picture of what to expect.
Describe your ideal day in the Triangle.
An ideal day would most definitely involve my husband of almost 17 years and our soon to be 5-year-old daughter. We love being out and about discovering places throughout the Triangle by accident! The day would involve food because we need energy to explore, right?! We go to North Hills in Raleigh often because of the variety of things to do there like dining, shopping, movies, and outdoor concerts.
What motivates you to write?
Sharing is caring! It’s important for consumers to share likes and dislikes so that businesses may evolve for the better. Writing on Yelp helps the community by sharing a wealth of knowledge from a personal and honest perspective. Being of aid motivates me!
About the Yelp Elite Squad: The Yelp Elite Squad is our way of recognizing people who are active in the Yelp community – people who are role models both on and off the site. Elite-worthiness is based on a number of things, including well-written reviews, high quality tips, a detailed personal profile, an active voting and complimenting record, and a history of playing well with others. Elites must use their real name on their account, have a real (and clear!) profile photo, and be of legal drinking age in their country. You can read more, and even nominate yourself at yelp.com/elite
