LA West’s Tour de El Segundo Celebration!

LA West Yelpers were recently treated to the ultimate tour of El Segundo! El Segundo is one of the oldest cities in LA and although it’s home to giants like Mattel, the LA Lakers and Kings, LA Times, LA Air Force, and is known as the aerospace capital of the world – it still has that charming small town vibe. The Tour de El Segundo month-long celebration was filled with events and experiences showcasing the local businesses that make this historic coastal city a prime LA destination!

The tour started off at Gate 14, the hottest spot to get your sweat on in El Segundo! Their mindset – to fail better. Perfection is not the vibe at G14 but rather focusing on your individual mental, emotional, and physical growth. What an inspirational experience!

Then it was off to the grand opening of the newest Kebab Shop! This California restaurant has been changing the kebab game since 2007. It’s family run, community driven, and serves up totally craveable Mediterranean eats, living by their mantra, “Mediterranean for all!”

I HAVE NEVER BEEN SURROUNDED BY SUCH FIT AND INTENSE AND YET SUPER SUPPORTIVE PEOPLE BEFORE! EVERYONE WAS SO KIND AND OFFERED SMILES, ENCOURAGEMENTS AND TIPS!

Vroom vroom! Next stop, Upshift Brewing! This automotive-inspired craft brewery serves up craft beers to enjoy after a long road trip or a day in the dirt, and everything in between. Yelpers stopped by for a beer and a heck of a good time!

Gwyneth Paltrow is even making her mark in El Segundo! Yelpers stopped by Goop Kitchen to try their nutritious, fantastic-tasting food. Their take on takeout is a menu of hearty bowls, vibrant salads, delicious handhelds, and more, all gluten-free and goop Certified Clean. YUM!

The grand finale of the Tour de El Segundo was reserved for the Elite Squad! 100 lucky Yelp Elites were treated to the ultimate VIP experience in downtown El Segundo. 

Kicking off the night at Old Town Music Hall, we had a welcome from the City and a live performance on the Mighty Wurlitzer! OTMH is so rich in history and such a unique entertainment experience. It felt like we entered a time machine!

Then it was time for the tour to officially begin! City representatives were our expert guides leading our Elites through the town. And at every restaurant, the Elite Squad got to hear from the business owners and try some of their most popular dishes and drinks!

Gotta give some love to all the stops on our tour:

Brewport Tap House – LA’s premier tap house is a lively spot to catch a game, live music, and enjoy great company. Best part, you can actually self-pour your wine and beer!

ESMoA – the experimental museum right on main street that challenges what an art space can be and reimagines creativity at large! Art is life!

Metro Cafe – serving up sustainable, locally sourced food with a beautiful welcoming ambiance. We enjoyed their dinner selections but may just have to come back for their iconic breakfast!

Richmond Bar & Grill – an incredible family owned spot that’s been around since 1976. Catch a game and enjoy great food, drinks, and the kindest staff!

Rock & Brews – the famous rock-inspired restaurant founded by rock legends! El Segundo is home to the very first one, how cool is that?!

And last but definitely not least, Tapizon – a vibrant “Tropi-Cali” spot with some of the most passionate owners. It’s living art from the decor to the food, and a guaranteed good time!

This event had me feeling like a true VIP from the camera crew to the thoughtful swag bag and, most importantly, the delicious food and beverages served at the featured restaurants!

To add to the fun, we had a beautiful branded balloon backdrop photo location by Balloon Honey, the incredible Vanrey Cinema getting that gorgeous video content (check out the cut here), Kyle DeSean Johnson capturing all those #photoworthy moments, and El Segundo Media officially documenting all the excitement! Elites went home with swag bags filled with Yelp and El Segundo goodies including Partake Cookies which are vegan, gluten & allergy free! 

It was definitely a night to remember! We can’t wait to go back to El Segundo to visit these businesses again and discover new ones to love!
